Born in Germany in 1986, René Rast is regarded as one of the most successful and versatile touring car and endurance racing drivers of his generation. After excelling in karting and junior formula categories, he made his mark in GT racing, where his raw speed, consistency, and racecraft quickly elevated him to the top level of international motorsport.

Rast rose to prominence with dominant performances in Porsche one-make series, claiming multiple Porsche Supercup (2010, 2011 & 2012) and Carrera Cup Germany (2008) title. His success paved the way to a glittering career in DTM, where he became a three-time champion (2017, 2019, 2020) and one of the most decorated drivers in the series’ history.

Now part of the BMW M Motorsport factory roster, Rast competes across some of the world’s most prestigious GT and endurance events from the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship to the Nürburgring 24 Hours and GT World Challenge Europe. His adaptability and relentless pursuit of performance continue to make him a formidable force on the track.
