Alexandre “Alex” Prémat

Known for a career that bridges the worlds of single-seaters, endurance racing, and touring cars, Alex has proven himself as a strong competitor on track.
Alexandre “Alex” Prémat is one of motorsport’s most versatile and globally accomplished drivers, known for a career that bridges the worlds of single-seaters, endurance racing, and touring cars. Born in Paris in 1982, Prémat rose through the competitive European ladder with early promise, claiming runner-up in the 2004 Formula 3 Euro Series Championship with ASM Team and finishing third in the 2006 GP2 Series with ART Grand Prix achievements that placed him among Europe’s elite young drivers and led to a test role in Formula 1.

His adaptability soon caught the attention of endurance racing giants. Joining Audi Sport Team Joest, Prémat became a factory driver from 2007 to 2010, competing in the Le Mans Series, DTM, and the 24 Hours of Le Mans. In 2008, he secured the LMP1 title in the Le Mans Series aboard the Audi R10 TDI showcasing his strength in long-distance racing.

Prémat’s career then took him halfway around the world to Australia, where he transitioned to Supercars, first as a full-time driver and later as one of the most respected endurance specialists in the championship. His partnership with DJR Team Penske culminated in a landmark 2019 Bathurst 1000 victory alongside Scott McLaughlin, one of modern touring car racing’s most memorable wins.

Across more than two decades, Alex Prémat has built a career defined by precision, consistency, and cross-disciplinary excellence, earning victories and championships in nearly every category he entered. His story represents a rare combination of European pedigree and international endurance mastery.
