LEARN MORE ABOUT

OMP

OMP Racing was founded in 1973 in Genoa, Italy, by three brothers, Claudio, Piergiorgio, and Roberto Percivale, who began by manufacturing roll cages and rally accessories for their own cars. What started as a passion project rooted in competition quickly grew into one of motorsport's most trusted names in safety engineering.

Through the 1980s, OMP expanded into driver protection, developing fireproof suits, gloves, boots, and helmets that set new benchmarks for the industry. Their evolution was shaped by decades of real-world competition, with partnerships across Formula One, endurance racing, rally, karting, and touring car disciplines driving constant refinement in materials, ergonomics, and thermal management.

At the core of OMP's identity is a philosophy that blends Italian design heritage with engineering precision. Every suit, seat, harness, and fireproof component developed through rigorous testing, certification, and direct feedback from elite drivers and teams. Their R&D division works closely with advanced laboratories and governing bodies, helping shape the FIA 8856-2018 standard and pushing boundaries in fireproof technology, driver comfort, and impact protection.

Today, OMP stands as one of motorsport's most influential and widely recognized safety brands. Whether in the cockpit of a Le Mans prototype, the grid of a GT championship, or the stages of a rally, OMP equipment represents a fusion of heritage, innovation, and an uncompromising dedication to protecting the drivers who make this sport what it is.
