JULES GOUNON

Jules Gounon embodies the endurance racing ethos, calm under pressure, relentless, and deeply connected to the heritage of GT competition.
Born in Aubenas, France in 1994, Jules Gounon has emerged as one of the defining endurance racers of his generation, a driver whose talent, consistency, and commitment have made him a cornerstone of Mercedes-AMG’s global GT program.

The son of former Formula 1 driver Jean-Marc Gounon, Jules’ motorsport journey began in single-seaters before his breakthrough in GT racing. His rise was swift and decisive, highlighted by victory in the ADAC GT Masters Championship in 2017 and overall triumph at the 24 Hours of Spa. Those achievements established him as one of Europe’s most complete GT3 drivers.

In 2021, after a 2018 to 2020 career with Bentley, Gounon joined Mercedes-AMG as a factory driver, quickly becoming one of the brand’s leading representatives in GT World Challenge, Intercontinental GT Challenge, and endurance events around the globe. His career includes two overall victories at the 24 Hours of Spa (2017& 2022), three Bathurst 12 Hour wins (2020, 2022 and 2023), and runner-up in the 2022 Intercontinental GT Challenge drivers’ title marking him as a dominant force in modern GT endurance competition.

Gounon’s combination of precision, and adaptability has made him a trusted reference within the Mercedes-AMG family. Whether competing in Europe, North America, or Australia, his performances consistently set the standard for factory excellence.

Across his still-growing career, Jules Gounon embodies the endurance racing ethos, calm under pressure, relentless, and deeply connected to the heritage of GT competition.
