FREEM
Founded in 2001 by a trio of friends united by passion for sport, technology, and performance, Freem began as a small R&D workshop and has since evolved into one of motorsport’s most respected names in bespoke racewear and driver protection.
Based in Volpago del Montello, in Italy’s Veneto region, Freem (originally “Free Minds Srl”) began by developing innovative kart-racing protection, its first product was a rib protector launched in 2003 that immediately gained recognition for combining safety and practicality. As demand grew, Freem expanded, in 2005 launching the world’s first truly customisable, lightweight karting suit homologated to CIK-FIA standards. That suit redefined what karting gear could be, not just functional, but tailored to individual teams and drivers.
By 2006, Freem had crossed over into full motorsport with fireproof suits, years of testing and refinement led to the homologation of the first ultra-light “TA111 Soffio” suit, setting a new standard for comfort, ergonomics, and protection in car racing. Over the decades, innovation stayed at the core. Freem introduced proprietary technologies such as F7 Technology, developed in collaboration with medical researchers to improve drivers’ physical performance and recovery, optimizing muscle management, circulation, and endurance under stress. In addition, their ICE‑KEY Device allows drivers to store crucial medical and licence data embedded in their suit for quick access in emergency situations, combining modern safety protocols with practical convenience.
Freem’s product catalogue now spans karting, professional motorsport, teamwear, and even gaming/racing-simulation gear, offering full head-to-toe kits and bespoke team/lifestyle-wear. Every piece is designed and manufactured in Italy, using high-quality, European-sourced materials, with tight quality control and impeccable attention to detail.
Thanks to this commitment to craftsmanship, safety, performance, and customization, Freem gear is used worldwide, across five continents, in over 35 countries, producing thousands of driver suits annually.
