JULES BIANCHI

AUGUST 3, 1989 - JULY 17, 2015
Jules Bianchi, born in Nice in 1989, was one of France’s most promising young drivers, known for his raw speed, precision, and calm determination behind the wheel. Bianchi rose through karting and junior formulas, and quickly established himself as a standout talent, claiming titles such as the 2007 French Formula Renault 2.0 Championship and the 2009 Formula 3 Euro Series with ART Grand Prix.

As a member of the Ferrari Driver Academy, Bianchi served as a test and reserve driver for Ferrari and Force India before making his Formula 1 debut with Marussia in 2013. In 2014, he delivered a career-defining performance at the Monaco Grand Prix, finishing ninth and scoring Marussia’s first-ever World Championship points, a result widely regarded as one of the most impressive drives of the hybrid era.

Celebrated for his feedback, professionalism, and humility, Bianchi was viewed as a future Ferrari racing driver and a key figure in F1’s next generation. Though his life was tragically cut short following an accident at the 2014 Japanese Grand Prix.

Today Jules' legacy lives on through safety improvements in Formula 1, such as the Halo device and the drivers he continues to inspire.
